SPRINGHILL Camps: area Director
www.springhillcamps.com
An area director is a person who writes curriculum for campers and runs all learning and team activities. Another big responsibility of an area director is to make sure that the counselors have someone to help them, push them, and give them a break from campers whenever they need one. As an area director, I wrote the curriculum for two-week middle school campers, took care of the counselors in my area, and was in charge of the discipline of the campers in my area.

Presidential Volunteer Service Award

A year after Hurricane Katrina (2006), my church group went to New Orleans, LA to help gut homes and prepare them for rebuilding or selling. One of the owners of the home we were gutting was so thankful that she nominated us for the Presidential Service Award and we received it for our service in the hard and desperate times after the events of Hurricane Katrina.
